About
The Baldock Laboratory is dedicated to the investigation of molecular mechanisms that protect and repair nuclear and mitochondrial DNA in human cells. Our research group employs cutting-edge technologies and techniques to explore the intricacies of DNA protection and repair processes. We strive to advance our understanding of these mechanisms in disease and we are committed to contributing to the scientific community’s knowledge in this field. We would also like to acknowledge our funders and sponsors, past and present, as without their support, this research would not be possible.
Facilities
The laboratory has access to a range of facilities and equipment at the University of Portsmouth.
Main laboratory
The main laboratory space is equipped with an array of state-of-the-art equipment including fluorescence plate readers, microscopes and analysers.
Cell culture suite
The cell culture room allows the culture of a range of tissues and cell types. The suite is equipped with a class II microbiological hood, CO2 incubators, centrifuge and a microscope.
Flow cytometry core
The lab has access to a 4-laser high-throughput flow cytometer which allows for detailed analysis of cell function.
